How it works

Determines the exact lot size to open so that, if your stop loss is hit, you only lose the planned percentage of your account. Essential for consistent risk management.

Example

Example: account $10,000 · risk 1% ($100) · stop loss 25 pips on EUR/USD (Standard, $10/pip). Lot Size = 100 ÷ (25 × 10) = 0.40 lots — losing the trade costs exactly $100.
