What is Backcom / Rebate in Trading?

Backcom — also called a trading rebate or forex rebate — is a portion of the spread or commission you already pay to your broker on every trade that gets returned to you, calculated by your trading volume (per lot). It is NOT a bonus, NOT a profit guarantee, and NOT cashback on losses. It is simply a partial refund of transaction costs you were going to pay anyway, and it is credited whether the trade wins or loses.

So when someone asks "what is backcom?" — think of it as a volume-based cost rebate, not a reward for trading more or a way to recover losing trades.

How does trading backcom work?

  1. 1

You open or link a live trading account with a supported broker through partner tracking, so your volume is attributed correctly.

  2. 2

You trade normally — every trade you place generates spread or commission revenue for the broker.

  3. 3

A portion of that spread/commission is credited back to you as backcom, calculated per lot of traded volume.

  4. 4

Backcom is paid out on a set schedule — daily, weekly, or monthly — depending on the broker's rebate program.

Types of backcom: by spread, by commission, by volume

Spread-based rebate

A share of the spread the broker earns on each trade is returned. Common on Standard / commission-free accounts where cost is baked into the spread.

Commission-based rebate

A share of the fixed commission per lot is returned. Common on Raw Spread / ECN / Zero accounts where you pay a visible commission instead of a wide spread.

Volume-based rebate

A fixed USD amount per lot traded, regardless of instrument spread structure. The more volume you trade, the more forex rebate you receive.
